We were out in the area and decided to give this Indian restaurant a try. We love Indian food and love finding new places. The lunch serving was only $14.95 and the portions were very satisfying and generous. The service was also great and the restaurant clean. We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area.
Yum. Great tasting food, flavor explosions in the mouth happened. I normally don't like chicken pakora, but it was exceptional. Momos tasted like the skins were handmade. I'd recommend the korma. Biryani was not that good, though, dry and had a weird instant like flavor. Service was good. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Didn't like the harsh fluorescent lighting.
Super place to get super Himalayan food! Price is reasonable, options are plentiful, and food is delicious. They also have really good lunch specials. Two of us shared vegetable monos (had leftovers!), lamb tandoori, and chicken korma. Everything was cooked to perfection with excellent flavors. I would absolutely go again and get the same thing or mix it up. I don't think you can go wrong!
I love this place! They are fast, the food is soooo tasty & fresh and everyone has great customer service. I've dined inside but mostly do to-go orders. The way they package their food is something not talked about. The containers seal well so the curry doesn't spill out, it's placed in a paper bag and put in a plastic bag for travel. I appreciate this!! I'm the kind of person who eats the same thing over and over and never really gets tired of it. With that, their Butter Chicken is my favorite. Tender pieces of chicken, flavorful sauce (I pick level 3-4) and rice. You MUST try this restaurant. Sam and her brother always help me out :) Thank you!
located in a large strip mall with plenty of free parking..first time here and we were greeted politely when we walked in.we were seated in a booth and looked over the menu which is extensive. The lunch specials were on a sidewalk board outside so we decided to try that You get choices of 2 entree proteins plus white rice and freshly made garlic Naan bread which was pillow soft and warm..yummy! We had chicken vindaloo..Tikka masala and chicken curry..all were outstanding with fresh cardamom pods that were so flavorful.a bonus was when I checked in with yelp a free drink coupon was offered which was honored! Our server was so polite and accommodating..We were very pleased with our experience and will be back to try more delicious dishes!
I have wanted to try Himalayan Bistro for sometime and came in today during lunch. They have a wonderful lunch special with choice of 2 items served with rice, a delicious Himalayan chopped vegetable salad, incredible naan and small dessert. The chicken vindaloo was delicious as was the sang paneer. Their naan is fluffy and wonderful. Owners and staff are so nice and very helpful. I look forward to further visits and trying many more of their great dishes.
Holy spices! If you're unsure whether you should try the food here, be like Nike and "just do it." Not only will you get kind and comforting service, you'll get deliciously warm, fragrant and flavorful food. The butter chicken is to die for. The sauce is thick, creamy & unctuous! Put it over a bed of rice or spoon it with/ pieces of naan, and enjoy every bite. We also ordered the vegetable momos - steamed dumplings that pair with another aromatic chutney sauce. These dishes are made freshly with love. I feel lucky to live so close by and I look forward to trying more food from here.
My BF recommended this spot so that I could try authentic Indo-Chinese food. OMG a match made in culinary heaven. The chow mein was spicy good and not too oily. The chili paneer and tandoori paneer had a crunchy but tender bite to it. The mango lassi was made with real mangos and helped to balance all of the spice in our meal. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. The music was semi modern Indian music. The wall decor was very golden and brightened up the mood. Happy I found a gem in Oceanside.
For take out. I cannot comment on service there but the food is fantastic. I got lamb biriyani and papadum. I'm more used to the light kind if papadum, almost paper like. This is thicker and saltier than what I was used to. I will probably not buy the papadum again The biriyani- OMG is really good. It's the dry kind of biriyani- not the one laden with sauce. Closer to Hyderabad style. But the lamb was so tender and delicious. This was takeout and they packed it very well. I will order from them when I have the chance! Love it!!
Wow!!!! Thanks Yelp!!!! This place is so good!!!! We ordered Apps- The fried onion with chickpea batter so good!!! It was awesome they had this no gluten. Deep fried chicken with chickpea batter- so fresh and yummy!!! The lunch special with chicken chilli and chicken curry comes with a drink and rice pudding. Hubby finished it all!!! This is my new go to for Indian. Everyone needs to support and check this place out so good and reasonably priced...
